Korn – Never Never (Director’s cut)
Music video for “Never Never”, the lead single from Korn’s eleventh studio album, The Paradigm Shift. The band’s first single with co-founding guitarist Brian “Head” Welch since 2004, it became their first number one on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart and the video has won several awards.
Director Giovanni Bucci wanted to tackle the old theme of love gone bad through the unexpected perspective of time. Based on this concept, the band is seen performing through alternating scenes, which some are played at super slow motion and others at very high speed. But their instruments aren’t the only thing they’re interacting with, for they are playing inside the exploded machinery of a clock, whose slick and mechanical hands inexorably travel towards and all around them. So, what business does Korn have with the hidden workings of ever-unforgiving time? Well, they’re here to destroy them to pieces, of course, and by doing that we have a sense that they finally gained control over their mental sanity and eventually refuse to give the unwanted sorrows of human relationships another chance.
